I’m happy to publicize information for the new Trinity term schedule for the Septuagint Seminar at Christ Church, Oxford. As you can see in the schedule below, there are a handful of seminars on the roster (including one by yours truly). I’ll post links here as they become available. But the very first one of the term is tomorrow. Info below:
Oxford Septuagint Seminar
22 April | 2:00 PM (BST)
Prof. Jean Maurais “Recent Research on Septuagint Origins”
New evidence from the study of language and society is reframing how we understand one of antiquity’s most influential translations—and the world that produced it.
This Wednesday, 22 April, the Oxford Septuagint Seminar at Christ Church will host Jean Maurais (Faculté de Théologie Évangélique, Montreal), Professor of Old Testament and Vice-Dean, and Adjunct Professor at McGill University.
Professor Maurais is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the SBL Commentary on the Septuagint, serves on the editorial board of the Septuagint and Cognate Studies series, and is Vice President of the International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies. He also co-convenes, with Tyler Horton, The Septuagint in Modern Research: A Virtual Seminar sponsored by McGill.
